Abstract

The article reveals the concept, social role and signifi cance of one of the most signifi cant rights of the emerging global information society of the XXI century — the right to know. A number of issues and problems arising in the course of the development of ethical and legal support and protection of this right are analyzed. The conclusion is substantiated that it is necessary to increase efforts to fi nd institutional forms of the international infrastructure of civil, public control over the realization of the people’s right to know that meet the realities of the global information society. Including, - the resolution of information disputes and other cases arising in the global information space, in connection with and over the right to know. Specifi c formats of this kind of institutionalization are proposed for discussion.
