SOME LEGAL FEATURES OF MEDIA REGULATION AND RESTRICTIONS ON INFORMATION IN THE MEDIA

Abstract

The media has always played a significant role in people's lives. The legal regulation of the mass media improves with scientific and technological progress, new technologies, and devices for information transmission and reproduction. The legal basis of media regulation depends qualitatively on the belonging to the legal family of states, legal traditions and trends in the development of law within the framework of national law, the interpretation of constitutional rules of law in the country, the correlation of constitutional rules of law and international rules of law. The features of the mass media are the orientation of the dissemination of information to a wide indefinite circle of people, the desire to convey specific information to the maximal possible number of people, the importance of information transfer about a fact, the object of the message using the most modern means of communication and technology. The development of modern technologies influences the legislation on mass media. Special rules of law regulate the interaction of the media with particular categories of per- sons and certain types of information. The interest of Russian Federation national security concludes in the dissemination of high-quality, reliable information that does not contain false information (fakes) and the data containing state and military secrets.
