RISKS OF USAGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SYSTEMS IN ROBOTIC/DIGITAL JOURNALISM

Abstract

In the article, the author explores the risks of using artificial intelligence systems in robotic/digital journalism. The aim of the study is to identify typical errors that affect the final result issued to users, as well as the likelihood of holding the media and other persons liable for the dissemination of deliberately false information when using systems based on artificial intelligence in work. The author, analyzing the latest changes in the legislation of the Russian Federation and the by-laws proposed for adoption, shows a trend towards increased responsibility for the dissemination of knowingly false information. Considering the positions of Russian and foreign journalism researchers, it reveals trends in the development of digital journalism in the world. Using the opinions of artificial intelligence researchers in journalism as an example, he shows a dualistic approach to using it in the media. The article provides examples of the use of artificial intelligence systems by the leading media in their work. The characteristic mistakes made by artificial intelligence systems used in journalism are described. Analyzing the legislation of the Russian Federation, the author: determines the legal status of artificial intelligence in the current legislation and establishes the circle of persons responsible for the results of the work of artificial intelligence, some gaps in the legislation related to prosecution for the dissemination of deliberately false information. In addition, it shows the existing risks that arise when using artificial intelligence systems in digital journalism. The author makes a conclusion about the need for human control over the use of artificial intelligence in digital journalism and the need to eliminate gaps in the legislation.
